Our Story

Who We Are.

Street Child Care and Welfare Initiative (SCCWI) is a Non-profit, Non-governmental organization founded in 2007 by two French people to take care of the well being of the disadvantaged children within the society through rehabilitation, education and empowerment programs. SCCWI is independent, neutral and impartial and is supported by donors, and sponsors without any  political, economic and religious affiliation.

Street Child Care and Welfare Initiative SCCWI is a registered charity with the Corporate Affairs Commission of Nigeria, with registration number 26903. SCCWI is registered as a charitable NGO with the Lagos State Ministry of Youth and Social Development, Ministry of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation.

Street Child Care and Welfare Initiative SCCWI is also a member of the UNICEF sponsored Child Protection Network, Nigerian Network of NGOs and other relevant government organizations.

Vision: A Society in which all children have equal opportunities to develop to their full potential and realize their dreams.

Mission: Street Child Care and Welfare Initiative SCCWI aims at protecting the right and improving the lives of disadvantaged children through participatory education, vocational trainings, workshops, sports, social and health awareness programs while ensuring adequate rehabilitation and long term reintegration of street children.
